3rd Annual RWCF Fundraiser: A Celebration of Workers

  • The Foundry 42-38 9th Street Queens, NY, 11101 United States (map)

A Celebration of Workers, RWCF’s primary 2021 fundraiser, is taking the form of an in-person “block party” with livestream options. Presented by Diageo, this event will honor restaurant workers everywhere, and welcome donors and restaurant workers of all socioeconomic conditions.

A Celebration of Workers will take place on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 5:30-10pm at The Foundry, an indoor/outdoor event space in Long Island City, NYC.

All funds raised will support RWCF’s core grantmaking, community-building and advocacy for restaurant workers nationwide.

5:30pm to 7pm - VIP Reception & Panel: Prior to the main event, RWCF welcomes active restaurant workers and VIP ticket holders to a special "State of the Industry" cocktail reception and panel discussion, which will be moderated by the Editor in Chief of Eater, Amanda Kludt. This panel will feature some of the restaurant industry’s most provocative leaders, including acclaimed pastry chef Paola Velez and Brooklyn-based restaurant owner Claire Sprouse of Hunky Dory. Cocktails begin at 5:30pm, followed by the panel discussion at 6pm.

7pm to 10pm - The Main Event: The main event is open to more than 200 supporters and other members of the hospitality industry. Featuring beer, wine, spirits, and food representing the best NYC has to offer. Participating restaurants include: Llama Inn, Migrant Kitchen, Hunky Dory, Everyman Coffee, Makina Cafe, La Morada, Milk Bar, and more. Guests will also enjoy raffle prizes, live and silent auction items, and special drag performances courtesy of our friends at Bacardi and featuring famed NYC queens Hibiscus, Miz Jade and Holly Day.

A Celebration of Workers will be an evening to remember!
